Description
This is my memory painting of Christmas shopping at the old Jordan Marsh store on Summer Street Boston, Massachusetts. We all have our own unique memories like taking time to visit the Boston store, seeing the decorations, embracing the lovely things in the store windows, anticipating all year long the beautiful Enchanted Village, and bringing home the blueberry muffins from the delicious bakery. Memories to hold dear to one's heart

Oh my! What memories you bring me back to, Rita! Jordan Marsh and Filene’s...and the bargain basement stores!! Everything seemed larger than life as a child and it was a long ride to the city! An hour at 45-50 mph from Holyoke to Boston was a trip to the CITY!! It was all about the decorations, the lights the hustle and bustle and the music...Bing Crosby, Johnny Mathis, Sinatra, Deano, Perry Como ...I could go on... they were all the Big sounds back then when “ window shopping” was a thing and Magic filled the air!! I remember MUCH MORE SNOW though!. Thank you for this ..Voted! L/F

Thank you so much Laurel Adams. This wonderful compliment is exactly why I painted this memory. You depicted in descriptive words the image and feeling I try to create in all my memory paintings.
