Description
This is my painting of the City Hall in Waltham, Massachusetts in Springtime. lt is a beautiful building that was designed by Kilham, Hopkins and Greeling. It is in the Colonial Revival-style and was erected in 1926 and opened and dedicated in 1927. My paternal grand parents came to America and settled in Waltham and were around when the City Hall opened. My grandfather was employed by the city as a stable worker and eventual became a city carpenter. During his time working for the city, he had many occasion to repair things in all the city owned buildings. I always loved this City Hall and the Common, and as an artist, I want to bring back nicest of memories which I tried to do in this painting.
