In 1845, Henry David Thoreau lived on the pond for two years and wrote about his life changing experience. This is a watercolor painting titled "Out of the Woods at Walden Pond. It is cold winter day at Walden Pond and a slight view of the frozen pond through the trees. This is NOT the house Thoreau lived in during that time that house is further into the woods. This house is near the staircase at the entrance to the beach.
